Positions of Responsibility at QPA

School Council

The School Council members are selected by their peers on an annual basis. They meet every fortnight and have a passion for making the school the best it can be. They choose charities every year to support and organise fundraising events for these. In addition, they are able to gather the views of their peers, sharing these with SLT staff members as appropriate.

The Councillors will continue to look at fund raising activities so watch this space!

Sports Ambassadors

Our QPA Sports Ambassadors have an active part to play at breaktimes, lunchtimes and after school clubs. They are trained as Bronze Sports Ambassadors through the Dorset Leadership Academy and are able to get children more actively involved at break and lunchtime.

Friendship Ambassadors

Each class has a voted for a child to be their class Friendship Ambassador. They lead the positive play area at break and lunchtime. There are structured play activities led by different FAs each day and anyone is able to come and join in the fun!

Head Boy and Head Girl

Year 6 pupils are invited to apply in writing for this prestigious role, where they are able to be Ambassadors for the school and role models for other pupils to look up to. After applying, the candidates are shortlisted and formal interviews take place with the Head of Year 6 and another senior member of staff from the Trust or Academy.

Prefects

Year 6 pupils are invited to apply to become Prefects. The Prefects have a whole range of responsibilities and show their dedication and commitment to supporting the wider running of the school with their service. There a variety of Prefect roles to apply for varying from water / drink monitor at lunchtime, Office Prefect, door monitor, wet pay monitor, etc.

Anti-bullying Ambassadors

These were introduced across the school in the Summer 2024. Pupils were invite to apply for this post and selected by the Academy Anti-Bullying Lead and the Head of Year.  They will be receiving training to support them in enabling them carry out their role - to ensure children understand what bullying is (STOP - Several Times On Purpose) and how to get help if they feel they or friend are experiencing bullying (SOS - Speak Out Straightaway).

House Captains

All children at QPA are members of one of our houses - Stewart, Windsor, Tudor or Hanover. Each year, the children in each house select Year 6 pupils to lead their house and be their House Captain and Deputy House Captain.
